despite the false accusation against Salieri, which surprisingly added romantic flavor to this story and made it complete, it's a great adaption portraying flaws of humanity, I saw full of an average person desperately searching for some concrete evidence that he has talent, suffering fears and pains for being a mediocrity, trying to avoid self-torture yet constantly going back and forth between this blurred hatred and distorted love for an angel of music who was untamed, shameless but bright beyond compare..
Forman employs his highest level of craftsmanship in portraying the inner life of the greatest artist through his arch-enemy's eyes; Amadeus reminds us how films can be serious and playful, decorous and vulgar, nuanced and wild all at once. (director's cut)
